💙About💜
In this event, you will be matched with two people - one is your giftee, who you will create a fanwork for, and the other is your gifter, who will create a fanwork for you. The purpose is to make something delightful for your fellow XiCheng fan, and be deligthed in return. Be creative and make someone else happy🎁So how does it work?The matching depends on your preferences and prompts, which you tell us about in the sign-up form, as well as how they fit with other participants' answers. You will not know who makes your gift until they post it. It may be the same person as your giftee, or someone else entirely. It will be a surprise!After matching all the participants, your assigned event mod will contact you and tell you your giftee's name, and also their preferences and prompts. You can then start creating the gift. If you have further questions about your giftee's preferences, you can contact your mod. Your mod will also check in on you a few times to ascertain your progress. Please respond to all of the check-ins.The final submission is due in the week of 14th to 21st March, 2023. You can post your entry at any time during that time frame.

12-19 Nov 22: Open for sign-up.24-30 Nov 22: Your assigned mod first contacts you and tells you your giftee's name, as well as their preferences / prompts.14 Dec 22: First check-in. Have at least some kind of rough idea what you will make for your giftee. It does not need to be final, but please show us you've put some thought in it already.14 Jan 23: Second check-in. Have a sketch or draft ready to show us, again this does not need to be final but we'd like to see that you have put in some work for your giftee and are aiming to post their gift on time.14 Feb 23: Third check-in. Have a WIP well on its way which you can show us, so it should already be past the stage of sketch or draft.28 Feb 23: Last check-in. Your mod will contact you one final time to ask whether you can make the posting date. This is your very last chance to drop out if you can't make it!14-21 Mar 23: Posting time✨ Publish the gift you made and receive one of your own🎁
💙Rules💜
This is an event which requires quite a bit of commitment. We want to ensure that no one has to go home sad and giftless😢 Thus, the rules are a little stricter than for most other events, and we request you to read them carefully:💙The minimum age requirement is 18 years.💜You are required to post a completed work by the deadline mentioned above, 14th to 21st March 2023. Don't bite off more than you can chew, and please try to create something which you are able to finish within this time frame.💙Seeing as this event is by and for XiCheng fans, your work must feature XiCheng, and specifically their romantic relationship, as the main topic. Side ships are allowed, depending on the preferences of your giftee, but XiCheng should still make up the major theme of your work.💜Eligible for participation is everyone who has posted at least two fanworks (either art, or fic of 1k+ length) in MDZS fandom at the time of sign-up. At least one of those two fanworks must have XiCheng as the major theme. Threadfics count as fanfics!💙The allowed mediums for this event are fanfic and fanart. For your creation you are free to choose either (or both) according to your talents.💜Please aim for at least 1k words in case of fanfic, and 1 piece of art you consider completed according to your style, in case of fanart.💙You can post your work on the platform of your choice, as long as it is accessible to the mods and giftee. If you're a writer, feel free to add your story to our AO3 collection.💜As already said above, the gift is supposed to be a surprise. So please keep it a secret until the posting time. Don't talk about it publically in a way that could give away who the gift is for.💙You must respond to all check-ins by your assigned mod. If you do not respond, we will assume you have dropped out of the event.Very important: It's understandable that real life sometimes disturbs our plans. If at any point in time you find that you cannot make the final submission date, you must contact your assigned mod immediately! It's possible to negotiate a belated submission date with your mod, and of course we will not judge you if you decide to drop out, either. But if you fail to communicate it on time, you will not be able to participate in any future commitment events!
